Pants-less Superhero / Simple Cape Tutorial

RC would not stop bothering me to put this blanket on her shoulders yesterday so I thought of making a cape out of it. I don't know how she got the idea about capes and hats but she sure loves to wear them. I'll start with the tutorial.

1.I just cut the sides of the baby blanket (first picture). You can fold the blanket in half to make sure that you are cutting the same amount of fabric on both ends.

2. Fold the upper portion of the fabric and sew it. I'm not really sure what type of hand stitching is this, as long as the sewing serves its purpose to attach the fabric together.

3. Use the remaining fabric to make stips. You can sew them together to make it long enough to tie it around your child's neck.

4. Insert the strip inside the fold/hole that you made and tie it together around the neck.

Here's the finished product, my little pant-less superhero. It's warm I don't know why she wants a cape! She also like hats and she's very specific on what hat she likes. It varies by day.

I guess we're ready for Halloween.

I like crafting for RC, she likes them all, I don't need to try hard to make my craft as nice as it could.

clever! Though my six year old would have a fit if I were to take scissors to his "banky"!

That's a great idea. KK saw RC's pic and said "mommy, look that's my friend". Now she also wants a cape like RC's. I'll have to dig up something I can cut up into a cape.

Love this idea! She can even wrap up in it when she is cold. I will have to try this. My daughter is always complaining about being cold and she loves dress up. Already a follower. tootsabellarose.blogspot.com
