Dinner at Outback Steakhouse

I had a hard time with this dress. I thought because of the loose design, I could fit in size small. It came in the mail and my arms can’t fit in the arm holes. It is also too tight at the chest. It took me awhile to figure out how I will DIY it to make it fit me. I decided to cut the sleeves, cut it vertically at the chest area and put some flowers on it.  I can't return it cause I ordered it from the clearance section.

I love this boots, it's Cole Haan, my first ever of that brand, it's over $70 which is already high for me but that price is 75% off the regular. I got it from Nordstrom Rack over a week ago. I think I got smarter with buying shoes lately since I have to think if I can wear it with RC. I have to be able to wear it often. Price is secondary thing that I consider now. I notice most of my shoes are about $50  or less per pair.

RC being hyper again. I think she got this attitude from me. I am loud and talkative when I'm with people I am comfortable with but I can be very quiet with other people. She is definitely sassy and sometimes naughty with her parents.

Outback is another restaurant we love. We've been here in their Waipio restaurant at least 4 times in  but we have never  been in their Waikiki location.

RC was asleep the entire time we were at Outback. We had to take out some food for her.

I'm lazy to put captions with each of the food pictures. When we were there most people are watching the football game by the bar. Did you notice that at restaurants? Even Ruby Tuesday does that Football watching thing.

By the way, we had $9 off our order so we had some discount. Do you like Outback Steakhouse?

China Sourcing

We have our favorite items in our home, a favorite dress, a favorite purse and so on.  I have some Coach and Dooney and Bourke handbags that are made in China but they are of great quality as opposed to the belief that items made in China are cheap and easily broken. They are not cheap either. If you get them on sale, they are probably at a reasonable price but not cheap.

What do you think about China sourcing? I know that there is an ongoing issue about outsourcing jobs and importing products from other countries.  Nike has a factory in Vietnam. I’ve seen some of my clothes that I bought that are made in the Philippines like Anne Klein, Old Navy and Gap.
Just like other issues, there are pros and cons of China sourcing. I would say that I benefit from it because I am a frugal person. I shop at Wal-Mart which most of their products are from China.  However, if I’m going to start an EBay store, I definitely would not be able to compete with sellers in China because their items are very cheap.
I participated in a campaign about China sourcing; I was given a small compensation to write this post. Please note that all ideas and opinions are mine.

Halloween Multi-colored Bat Wall Tutorial

This is our only Halloween decoration for now and our wall is still a work in progress. Are you excited for Halloween? I am. I'm sure it will be a lot more fun for RC since she is a big girl now.

1. First I have to make bat templates on the cardboard. There are a lot that you can find online. I just chose the simplest one.

2. I cut the bats from the cardboards and me and RC colored it with regular crayons.

3. I decided to put black around the bats using a fabric paint. You can use a black marker instead.

 4. I placed scotch tape at the back of the bats

 5. Stick them on the wall. Very easy! I'm sure you have a better idea and nicer decors than this. This is just my idea for a toddler approved Halloween craft.

Big Haired by the Sea

Mom and RC have the same hair. For my hair, it's even harder to manage because I just can't tie it at the back. I am such a BIG haired woman.

RC's dress is made by yours truly. It was from my old blue dress that I never got to wear. Now RC  is going to have a lot of use from this blue dress I made for her. Her headband is also made by me. She has lots of headbands now.  The dress I am wearing was given by Yandy.com. They sell lingerie but they also have dresses. It's very comfortable.I'll wear it often.

I have projects that I plan to share here because one of my new hobbies is to look at craft and cooking blogs and find inspirations. I'm also thinking of going back to workforce on the weekends if I can find one but I haven't really tried searching yet. If it ever happens, I am going to be a part time worker and a work at home mom (because blogging is like working from home).

Thanks for all the new follows. I'm going to visit you all soon.

Hair Cutting Session

First I cut RC's hair in the bathroom and then in the living room which we spend most of our time during the day.

My face is getting rounder. I need to do Zumba more than once a week. Her dress is made by me from her dad's shirt and I used a collar from one of her baby dresses she can no longer wear. I'll probably blog about it later.

Yesterday after I cut RC's hair, I thought maybe I should have left it the way it was or maybe I should have made her go to a kid's salon. Today, her hair looks better.

We're both wearing stripes with leopard print. I think RC likes her new hair. The shorter, the easier to manage and not too many tangles.

We chopped my hair off today. I forced my husband to do it. It's not perfect but it's okay. We saved on gas, at least $50 and at least 3 hours of time and we had fun. Yes, the whole family had a hair cutting session at different days within the week. Today was my hair's turn. I'm donating it to Locks of Love. It's my third time to do it.  I hope I can send my hair this week and maybe next time we can also donate RC's hair but I doubt that I'm going to let her hair grow by 10 inches before we cut it again. 10 inches is a lot of hair, some people ask me why I grow my hair long and then just chop it off really short. It's  because Locks of Love will only accept at least 10 inches to be donated as their website says.

Have a great week ahead. Thanks for all the visits. Each visit here counts.

P.S. I hope you did not notice that I have a stye on my left eye. It's healing now.

Did anybody else try the "home cutting session"?

First Hair Cut is a Mommy Cut

Before:

I plan to keep her baby hair and give it to when she's grown up.

 After:

I actually made it even shorter so here's the final "after cut".

It's a frugal idea but it's memorable, at least for me. It was tough because she has curly hair at the bottom. This is the first time I cut a child's hair too.

Shepard Fairey Trivia

You may never have heard of Shepard Fairey prints, but they are very widely recognizable and well known in the art world.  Shepard Fairey was born in 1970 and has produced many famous prints, including the print of Barack Obama with the word HOPE across the bottom.  Probably his most famous work is entitled Andre The Giant Has A Posse from 1989 which launched his work into the spotlight.  Shepard Fairey art also includes books, but he’s by far most famous for his prints, which include controversial topics like Free Tibet and the movement for freedom in Burma.

His thought provoking and sometimes enlightening prints are very collectible and highly sought after.  His prints will always hold their value, or increase, because they are very limited, usually numbering 400 or less.  This ensures that any Shepard Fairey art you purchase will increase in value in the future.  You can fine Shepard Fairey prints and art at Shepardfaireyprints.com.  So if you’re looking to add to your collection of art or start a new collection, you should check their website out. I notice some of his prints are very graphic and they relay some type of message.  I personally think they would be great decors for Halloween.

Playful Planet StoryLand Yoga DVD Review / Giveaway WORLDWIDE Ends 10/9 (CLOSED)

Sponsored by Tomoson.com

I’ve never tried Yoga but I watched it on TV. I read that it is a good type of workout that can help you lose weight as well as meditate.  Yoga is something that I am considering to try right now. I’m attending a Zumba class once a week and I’ll probably do Yoga too if I can find a Yoga class near our apartment.

Review:  At first I find the speaker a little cheesy but then I remember that this Playful Planet StoryLand DVD is not for me but for kids. RC likes it and requests that I play it almost everyday. She is very active running around the apartment and this one makes her exercise just infront of the TV.  As early as now, she can learn about exercise.
The first time I played this, it was lots of fun because I joined RC in doing the yoga. It would be great if we do it every morning.  The DVD is for 3-8 years of age but even adults can try it especially if you are just starting with Yoga. It’s a good way to exercise while indoors. The most important thing for me is that RC likes it, she was paying attention to the speaker and she gets a little excited of the stories and does the actions.
For those who are already doing Yoga, I would think that this will be a good way to introduce your child to something you like doing and s/he can also participate in it.

Get Paid to Blog

I started a blog without knowing that I can make money from it.  I started it to have my own space in the web just like others do. I was reading blogs and was inspired by them.  I made one and I enjoyed exchanging comments with other bloggers.  It was only by the end of last year that I was introduced to websites that I can join to earn some income. It would certainly not make you rich based on experience but it helps. You can shop with the money you will be making on blog!  I shop cheaply so it works for me.

I shifted my blog from sharing just my experiences with my daughter to an "all around blog".  Now, I also do reviews and even host giveaways.  Some of my readers may not like the idea that I was writing various topics but I also gained followers from it. I’m even amazed that some of the sponsored posts I’ve written without a single comment get a lot of views.  So if you would like to monetize your blog, just go ahead and do it. There’s a lot of support in the blogging world. You can choose which writing projects to accept if you would like to stick to the main subject of your blog. The only problem I have with writing articles is the limited time I have. I am writing this while my daughter is napping.  I usually make blog posts at night when my family is sleeping. Time is definitely needed when you monetize your blog.

I recently signed up with Bucks2Blog. I would say that some of the writing gigs I got from them are challenging that I have to research on top of sharing my own experience. However, I would recommend that you join Bucks2Blog because you actually learn from the topics that are given to you aside from the fact that you get paid to blog. They usually pay in less than 30 days and you don’t have to wait till you reach a certain amount of points or income before you can withdraw your earnings. They're definitely not a scam.
This is actually a short article about how to make money on blogging but I won’t fill you with too much information at this time. I’ll share some other tips later.
I am participating in a blogger campaign by Bucks2Blog and will be compensated. However, the views and opinions are my own.

Red Lobster Seafood Heaven

This is one of the few times we go to Waikiki. I love Waikiki but my husband is not a fan of the place because of the traffic going there and there's usually a lot of people everywhere. If there's Red Lobster somewhere else we'll probably go there instead but this is the only one in Oahu as far as we know.

I took RC to witness the live lobsters and she likes them.

This is yet another late lunch. I think I'm getting used to this. We usually have late breakfast anyway on the weekends so we are not in a hurry to get our lunches. It's really great for taking pictures too, there's not much people in the restaurant.

Whoever started the trend on giving coloring materials to kids at restaurants is a genius.

We were sitting at the corner so I was able to take a picture of the interior of the restaurant.

I did good with taking food pictures. I took pictures of everything that we had except for one salad.

Ultimate Feast Plate

Wood Grilled Lobster, Shrimp and Scallops

There is always a room in my tummy for dessert. This is the warm chocolate chip lava cookie.

On the way to the parking lot.

I love eating out on the weekends. What's your favorite restaurant?
