Crissy Field San Francisco

Crissy Field is a beautiful place in San Francisco, we had a great time there by the beach, watching people riding their bikes, parasailing, build rock "towers". We drank coffee, took a lot of pictures (obviously). I have seen the Golden Gate bridge from other spots before but this is the first time I've been at Crissy Field. I saw Alcatraz again from afar. We thought of going there but I don't think it would be a kid friendly place, but maybe next time.

This year we might not go back to the mainland again. Hopefully, we can at least go to an interisland travel.

Local SEO

Have you seen local businesses appearing on web pages as advertisements?  They might have used a service like Revlocal.Com. RevLocal targets potential local customers or clients online.  A good example of a business that might need this help is a furniture seller. Here in Hawaii, it will be expensive to ship furniture items and usually this type of businesses targets the residents already living on the island to buy their items.  I think a good number of people here likes to support Hawaii grown and manufactured items. They provide jobs for people and it helps the economy by making the money stay on the island. There has been a good exposure to these businesses through local magazines, local TV programs and trade shows.

RevLocal offers local search engine optimization. Most of the time, we cannot hide from the internet anymore, it knows where we are.  They will elevate local listings on search engines to selected online users.  This way, your business will stay on top of the competition.  I think for those who are already paying for ads, this will be great to have even better sales. Most people now use shopping and read reviews online. RevLocal also provides an estimate on how many users searched for your business. I guess this will help if it will be worthwhile to place an advertisement or if you need to divert some keywords so online users can land on your web page.  They also have a blog where they provide some useful information regarding marketing. They have articles about Facebook, Twitter, Google and other social media.

For those who are looking for updating their web page, RevLocal offers web design services.  They also offer opportunities to become an affiliate.  This is a website review that is brought to you by Revlocal.com. Please visit their website for more information about local search marketing.

Peach Suite Hotel and Restaurant Supplies

Many of us have stayed in a hotel. It must be tough to own a hotel but I noticed there are big name hotels that have a lot of branches all over the country and some even have international locations. The competition is steep too, from pricing to accommodations. We are not picky when it comes to choosing hotels when we go on vacations. We usually just get a room with two beds. I like staying in hotels because you really feel that you are on vacation and there is really no need to clean much because there is housekeeping services.
Peachsuite.com is a Hotel Bathroom Supplies & Restaurant Supply Company. Since they are a  Hotel Product Supplies & Catering Supplies, they have items that can be found in hotel rooms like hair dryer, iron, chairs etc. Retail purchases are also welcome in their site.I know few people who works on hotels, there are so many of them here since Hawaii is a tourist destination. However, I'm not acquainted to anybody who owns a hotel.
Here are some pictures of the last hotel we stayed in California.

This post is brought to you by PeachSuite Wholesale Hotel Supply & Restaurant Equipment Company. Please visit their website for a whole lot of hotel items.

Jelly Belly Factory

We went to the Jelly Belly Factory in Fairfield, CA during our vacation. It's so colorful. The place was packed and we were in a long line before we started the factory tour. It's free! We were  not allowed to take pictures inside the factory so I just took advantage of taking pictures outdoors and at their store.

Cute Jelly Belly car

RC showing her teeth per instructions. I bought a box of fudge after I tasted all of them. Yes, there is a free taste too. Jelly Belly does not only produce jellybeans but other types of candies as well.

Former president Ronald Reagan loves jellybeans and I learned that the blueberry flavor was created for his presidential inauguration in 1981. There is a jelly bean art made for him.

Do you love jellybeans? There are some flavors that I can't eat.

Winner Annoucements 4/25/12

Thank you for joining. I'll have upcoming giveaways that will be posted soon.

Online Freebies by Mail

I do love freebies. If you do, you can check out this website, all-free-samples.com. They offer online freebies by mail. I used to get free samples in my mailbox. You cannot expect something that you can use in awhile but if you want to try a product, there are companies out there that invest in these free samples. Before you purchase them, you get to try them first for free. I’m sure many of you have tried this before. I used to try food at groceries before and then I buy if I like them.  For me, the free samples are especially good for more expensive products just to make sure that the item is right for you and you are not wasting any money for it.

Now, books are also converted into PDF files and probably other formats so we can read without having to have the physical book.  There are free books online that you can also check.  I tried a few e-books before like cookbooks and some print out for kids.

Another website that you can visit is ReallyFreeSamples.com. I still have yet to try these sites and I’m not sure what information you will need to enter. Some of the items posted here can be acquired by liking a Facebook page.

This is a sponsored post by all-free-samples.com. All opinions posted are mine.

Space Saving Spice Racks

I have to organize my kitchen. It’s one of the tasks I’ve been procrastinating about. I’m trying to cook more lately trying out new and old recipes.  Lately, I just feel that I have to do more here in our household. Cooking more often will be one of the changes I would like to venture on.  We’ve already cut our restaurant expense in the past few months.

There are so many spice racks to choose from at spiceracksource.com. They have some high end spice racks but there are also some that are affordable and a lot of their items are on sale and comes with free shipping. I want to have one that can be placed at my countertop right beside the stove. Something that is a space saver like a rotating spice rack would be good. I have to use my step stool at times trying to reach spices in the kitchen cabinet (no kidding!).  Sometimes, it feels like I have to dig in the cabinet because even if all the spices are all together, there are a lot of them that I need to search through them everytime.

If you are looking for kitchen spice racks, you may find something that you want at spiceracksource.com.  This post is also brought to you by spiceracksource.com.

Santa Cruz Beach (again)

This is still at Santa Cruz Beach and this is the beach part, we went here twice in one day. I really admire the people who take the plunge in the water wearing bikinis because it is cold. We should take advantage of the beaches here in Hawaii. I just don't like the salt water too much and I'd rather go to a swimming pool. However, I always liked the view and the walk by the beach because it is always refreshing.

Pretty soon, RC is going to be taller than me. One of the reasons why I realize that I don't like being a midget too short. A lot of 8-10 year olds are just as tall as I am.

Finally RC's smile was captured here.

Even just crossing the water makes me feet cold.

Shop For Used Cars

I have mentioned here before that I don’t have a car, but now that we paid the car that my husband is driving and RC is getting older, I’m thinking I should have a car once RC starts kindergarten but that would be about two years from now. The big problem that we have now is parking since our apartment has limited parking and lot of people are already parking at the streets.

If I get a car, I would not mind if it is used or not as long that it’s in great condition. I've found a website called shop4usedcars.com that will make it easier for you to find that perfect pre-owned car that's been gently used and has many years of useful life ahead of it.  Their website if very easy to use because you can search for dealerships , and do an advanced search based on the year, make and model of the car you may be interested in buying.  Ken Garff Hyundai  and Mercedes-Benz of Salt Lake are listed under dealership on their website.  This website can help a prospective used-car buyer when making a decision about which car to buy.  You should check it out before you go to a local dealer to make sure you're getting the best deal possible.

Have you shopped for used cars before? How was the experience?

Geek Gadgets 2012 (Make Your Own Dippin Dots!)

I’m going to feature some unique items and Geek Gadgets 2012 in this post.
Here’s a pirate ship cooler, I also found a treasure chest cooler at geekalerts.com. These would be great for pirate themed birthdays. RC is fond of pirates maybe because even the girly cartoons feature pirates. She even makes pirate sounds at times and has a pirate hat that she wears from time to time. For football fans, Geek Alerts also featured a football cooler before. There always feature unique and exciting items.

I love Dippin' Dots! Now I can make my own. I haven't checked yet on how much this would cost but it's an idea. It can be an activity that I can do with RC too.

Every time I visit Geek Alerts to browse through the Geek Gadgets, I always get entertained with the pictures. Here are some more that I found today. How about these umbrellas that looks like little people wearing boots? I think they are cute.  The keyboard slippers are unique and very geeky.

You can find Amazon promotional codes and other coupons like AbeBooks coupons at Geek Alerts.  I’ll probably search for the Amazon codes later when I need something from their site.
The links in this post are provided/brought to you by Geek Alerts and the pictures are from their website.

Tarps

Many of us attend outings for the family and we can enjoy being outdoors.  Some of us go camping, picnic and other outdoor activities. But, sometimes the weather doesn't cooperate, and it rains or is very windy.  On those days, we can use a variety of ways to protect our items and ourselves from getting wet.  Even on a hot weather, a tarp would still be helpful to protect us from the heat. Tarps have been used for hundreds of years to cover things we want to keep out of the weather or hidden from view.  Whether the tarp is a drop cloth for painters, or a canvas tarp for a boat, they serve the purposed of protecting the floor from paint spills or the boat from rain or vandals.
I only went camping a few times and I remember using a canopy and tent. Welders use welding blankets, and tarps can also be in different colors, like a blue tarp, which will stand out and get noticed more easily.  I've seen people use tarps as car covers and plastic sheeting to protect their furniture when doing home renovations.  If you're in need of a tarp, you should check out mytarp.com and look at their huge varieties and colors.

ZeroWater Review and Giveaway, 2 winners! Ends 4/25

I’ve have been thinking of getting a new water filter for months now. We used to have one but it’s a little smaller than what I wanted to have so I did not replace the filters.  We buy bottled water which can take a lot of space in the refrigerator. It can also be expensive to buy bottled water and since we recycle, there’s the hassle of saving all the bottles till we take them to the recycling center. I got this ZeroWater  10-cup water filter last Friday afternoon and I was excited to use it. We’ve been using it for about three days now and I love the design of it. It has a pull-and-pour spout so I can just  press the button to get water. It can easily fit in our refrigerator. I think the best feature of the ZeroWater aside from its filter capabilities it the laboratory grade TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) meter to test the water.

We were told that the tap water here is safe to drink but I still wanted to be on the safer side especially for RC. I also like the taste of the bottled water better than the tap water. Our tap water reads 200 using the meter.  You can use ZeroWater.Com to look for the TDS Score  of your tap water, just enter your zip code. You can leave a comment so we can compare.  Using the website, mine reads 184.
After we place the water into the ZeroWater pitcher, it reads 000. The taste of water is also better after filtering with ZeroWater.

Other features:
Eliminates all dissolved solids virtually
Lets you know when you should replace the filter
Patented 5-Stage ion exchange filter
Recyclable Filters
Easy to assemble

 Where to Purchase/Save on ZeroWater:

You can purchase ZeroWater Filter in Amazon, Target, Walmart and Home Depot. You can also purchase it at shopping2.zerowater.com and enter the coupon code MC30, which will give you  30% off a 10 Cup ZeroWater pitcher
You can find more feedbacks about ZeroWater in Facebook.

Giveaway:
ZeroWater is giving away two pitchers (one for each winner) to two of my readers! Easy to enter. Giveway is open to continental US residents.
a Rafflecopter giveaway

I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of ZeroWater and received a ZeroWater water pitcher to facilitate my review, two pitchers to giveaway, and extra filters to thank me for taking the time to participate.
