Did Not Wake Up In Vegas

I did not wake up in Vegas today but it does not sound so bad that I woke up in Honolulu. I am still feeling a little disappointed, I should be in Las Vegas now and having a getaway which we planned for so many months. See, sometimes even if you plan, you’re all set and packed things would not always go the way you think it will. I also feel a little embarrassed because I told people that I am going including my neighbors, my friends, and all my family.

But what I am complaining about right? Today we remember the lives that were lost during the September 11 attack by the terrorists, the war and the lives that are still being lost because of violence. I won’t try to put religious and political discussions here but we probably all wish that things like that don’t ever happen and sometimes I think if it’s really easier to be bad than be good? To complain than be patient? I don’t like being upset because I feel like I am defeated by own emotion.

When we look around especially for a person like me who came from a third world country, I try to think, how many people are starving right now? How many people can even ride the plane? How many people are homeless? I am lucky, we are lucky that sometimes we take things for granted.

Now, I have to unpack or maybe I should wait till our next vacation so I'll be ready already.
