Night at the cabin

At this time, we are unable to take any vacations so why not staycation. I can't take off any more days off from work and my job is strict when it comes to attendance, one minute late is late and vacation days have to be accumulated and approved.

This was the second time during this year that we stayed in a cabin. The cabin we stayed in this time was a better version, the kitchen, the doors, beds, mostly everything was updated compared to the one we stayed before. Here's me modeling for one of the bedrooms.

I was already tired here from the driving even if I was just a passenger but my family still had lots of energy so I was trying to keep up by posing.

Chocolates and Truffles

I love chocolates. It's good to know that there are actually health benefits from it instead on focusing on the idea that it's a fatty treat.

There's something sweet that I want to try, truffles. I don't think I ever had it before. I heard it's really good. According to Ogourmet website, which by the way has lots of unique gourmet foods to offer, "Truffles are wild underground mushrooms. Truffles live in symbiosis with certain trees – oaks for the most part, but also chestnuts, hazel trees and beeches." Did anybody try truffles before?

Maybe I thought about this because I had too much chocolate while we stayed at a cabin by the beach this weekend.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Hi! So far this is what we have done for Thanksgiving, had a brunch at a fully packed restaurant and then go to a garden. About a hundred people were waiting by the door waiting to be seated. I refused to wait so we went inside the restaurant and RC played at this boat. I blogged about this restaurant before, it has a boat inside.

 Captain RC

I saw a vacant small table inside the restaurant just enough for the three of us. I noticed it was vacant for at least 10-15 minutes so I asked a waiter if we can take the table. He agreed so the waiting was over. It probably took us at least  another15 minutes to wait if I haven't asked.

Pictures of us at the park. RC had a great time, I did too.

what I wore: BCBGMaxAzria dress (clearance), Rusty Lopez shoes, necklace and earrings  from craft fair, unbranded bag, black tights (forgotten brand)
what she wore: Eyeshadow girls top and skirt from Nordstrom rack $17, Looney tunes shoes $4 from PI, flower pin

Is it time to shine?

I want to thank Miss Holly of  Their Little World for featuring RC. Their website is full of cuteness and little fashionistas. The picture I sent was not too good but since it is a luxury clothing line website that carries Ralph Lauren, I decided to send a picture of RC wearing RL.

My blog got featured at Pocketchange, thanks to Miss Krista. It's not just a regular fashion blog, it's a home, pet, and baby blog rolled into one. It's truly a fabulous website.

For RC, this is not the first time I was asked for her picture and I know I have a beautiful daughter so it's no surprise (yes, i'm a proud mom). But my blog in general, I was hesitant. Looking at my previous posts, I was strutting my thrifted clothes and my dresses that are pretty cheap. I mean, I don't think I come close to those blogs with pretty ladies and high end fashion. This blog is mostly about my moments with RC.

It's getting really late. I waited for RC to go to sleep before I tried updating my blog. I'll leave you all with a goodnight kiss from my sweet baby. Nite nite everyone!

**picture taken the same time as the piano picture on my previous post**

I'll try to do better with pictures on my next posts, maybe have more outfit/food photos on my next entries.

Little talk about music

When it comes to music, I think I am so outdated, I like those mushy songs from the 80's and I remember older people at our house played really old songs when I was a kid. That doesn't really help in catching up with modern music. I'm a frustrated musician, can't really sing. Well, I can sing, I just don't sing good. Last year, I bought RC a piano for Christmas and when she gets a little older, I want her to take some piano or voice lessons. So hopefully, her mom (that's me!) can afford all that on top of school expenses in the future.
Here's RC last year playing her piano after gift opening on Christmas day.

Now, she is also using her piano as a chair.
Speaking of music, I just found these classic music boxes online, they are beautifully  made and handcrafted from Italy, I love how glossy they look and of course, they would make a soothing kind of music. It would be good to just lie down and play the box while I relax.  They come in variety of colors, shapes and themes to choose from and can be custom-made.  It’s good to express one’s self in artistic way. This would also be a great decoration in a room and maybe a conversation piece with visitors.

Swap Meet

It was my first time in this swap meet, that's how people call it but I would call it a flea market. The parking was almost full but there's plenty of room to walk around. They have tons of stuff from ready made breakfast, vegetables and fruits, new and second hand clothes, accessories, baby items all for cheap prices.  The sellers are also mostly Filipinos and a lot of Philippines products.

**my unmatching outfit for the day**

We've got to go to this place again and next time, I will bring more cash. I am even thinking of maybe selling our second hand items when I start accumulating them again. RC keeps growing so I think it would be good to make some money out of  her old clothes and other stuff. I wouldn't mind selling here, it's humbug to set the booth and try to sell but it would be a good experience. For now, those are  just thoughts. I have a lot of other thoughts and I hope I can put more action into them.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

I feel Christmas already and it's not even Thanksgiving yet. These pictures probably does not show, but there are craft fairs, bake sales, and Christmas TV commercials. I've been to two craft fairs already and I'm going to another one this coming Friday. I like to look at crafts and I wish to be crafty  but time does not allow me to do so right now. With a full time job, household and RC, I don't even have much time to "pick up the house".

Here are some pictures of us from yesterday. The heat was a little intense, I'm glad there were a lot of trees at the event.

RC was covering her ears because the music was loud.

**extra picture of RC at the park**

Christmas is another busy time, soon we will be going to see at least one Christmas parade, downtown holiday lights, exciting time. Since I had RC, I seem to keep on finding things to make us busy. We're both exploring. I'm also set to have a Christmas dinner with my coworkers and exchange goodie bags. I wouldn't shop much at stores probably. I am thankful for online shopping.

I hope everyone is doing well. Sorry for the lack of comments. I do the -click-click-click thing at times to look at blogs. Aside from being busy, RC seems to keep interrupting me when I try to comment. This post took at least five tries before I finish it.

Little Fairy at the Corn Field

This is a continuation of my last post. After the pumpkin patch last week, we went to the corn field. One box is worth $10 and we can fill it as much as we wanted.

The hubby harvested more than 60 ears of corn. I think he enjoyed it, I did not like this part very  much because it was getting hot during the day and we all got dirty during this event.  I saw other people shucking their corn so I did it too  (but not all).

RC sat on the field, she was tired. It was then that we knew it was time to go home.

Fresh corn is delicious, we had them for dinner that day.

The weekend is almost over, they come by so fast.  Have a great week ahead!

Thank you for all the nice and sweet comments

Little Fairy at the Pumpkin Patch

Last week, we went to a pumpkin patch and a corn field. I was excited, this was the first time I went to a pumpkin farm so it was a different experience for me and RC.

RC fell in love with one little pumpkin and she did not want to let go of it after we picked it.

The little girl was busy and did not want to be disturbed by picture taking. She would not look at the camera lately.  I won't force her to, so most of her pictures will be candid.

No, she would not trade her little pumpkin.

We'll be back at this place next year, I hope.
