Crowd Control

We used to go a lot at trade shows. This coming March, there will probably be a huge car show downtown. I think it is a fun event when you are not shopping for cars just like going to craft fairs.  On events like this, you’ll usually see stanchions with velvet rope to control the crowd in some areas. For car shows, they usually protect the vintage and really expensive cars with these barricades. I think it is interesting to see those old cars that were manufactured and sold long before I was born.

Do you like going to trade shows? Another events that I look forward to going are craft fairs.  Even at craft fairs, they also use crowd control especially if there is a live performance on stage going on. I think this makes the events more organized and it will be clear to the people which space they are allowed and which space they are not.

I participated in a campaign about crowd control, for more information, please go to camelbackdisplays.com. This post is brought to you by their website.

Latest Gadgets from GeekAlerts

I’m not sure if these are the latest in gadgets or Geek Toys but these are the items I found at geekalerts.com. How do you want to add this pair of shoes to your shoe collection? Who says that only kids can have those lights in their shoes. These shoes comes in remote control so you can control the shade of color and style of lighting. They’re  not as expensive as most of the shoes at the runway either. You can buy them from etsy at $180.

I’m not sold with this rib cage dress. It’s a little too much for me, I think everybody will look at you when you wear this and I’m not sure if that will be in a good way.

A bra at their website is a great invention for me. Your breast will instantly increase in size without the need for surgery. I personally would not buy it but I would like try. For those who needs a little lift, this wine rack flash-bra can be a good buy.
I think this pig mouse is cute. It will be a good transition from a boring black mouse. The cracker Iphone case is kind of nice too.

Do you have a gadget site that you always look into? Geekalerts.com also offers coupons like at this time, they have UPrinting coupon and a code for PrintPlace special offer codes.

More Uses For Clipix

I’ve been using clipix for awhile now and I’m enjoying it. Signing up is very easy. So far, I made my clips in private because I just clip whatever I see on the internet that I like. I’ve been using it to organize the blog posts that I have to do and even the recipes that I’m willing to try. Later, I will probably use it to engage and connect with other women online. It’s easy to share what you clip in Facebook and Twitter. I know I’ll find more uses for it in the future. My lists or clips will continue to grow.

I’ll use it to clip activities with RC. Lately, our activity is to trace letters. She seems to like using her electronic gadget than a paper and real pen.  I keep looking for toddler crafts that we could do together. With crafting, I mostly have to guide her hands but I know she’s getting good at it. I think clipix will really help me with keeping things up. The notebook I was using is not enough. How about you? Do you make a list of things to do? What items are you going to put in clipix?  I tried without list but I’m not good at it. I need to be reminded of things that need to be done. I know the messy apartment reminds me but I still want to see it posted somewhere and then cross it out when it was done. Clipix with my notebook will be a good combination.

Translation Company

They say the world is getting smaller. It seems that it is getting easier to travel, getting goods from another country seems to get easier too.  Here, there are Asian stores that you can go for people who miss their native food and items from home.

I would say I’m very lucky to know two languages and one other Filipino dialect. Most people know just one. I want RC to be bilingual too but I find it hard to teach her now with me becoming busier and I’m the only one in the household that can talk Filipino.

For businesses, some needs business translation services so they can expand their business outside the country or even within the country, they can get foreign clients. A translation company can be cost efficient  especially for the small businesses who just needs to translate some documents from time to time.

For information about Merrill Datasite for M&A deal, you can go to datasite.com. For working individuals, you may have experienced a virtual date room while on a meeting. Your clients or co-workers are not physically there, but you can still communicate through visuals. You can have a meeting from somebody in another country through this method.

(Wordless) Wordy Wednesday: Halawa District Park w/ Linky

Happy Valentine's! This is more like a wordy and "picturey" Wednesday than wordless.

I mentioned at this post that we went to another park because it was all wet and still drizzling at Moanalua Valley Park. This is the park where we went to, Halawa District Park. Going here brings back some memories. I used to go here almost everyday,  mostly all by myself. I ate here, read magazines here, I watched the kids playing. Sometimes, I walked through the neighborhood, which was a mile walk with a friend.

It's one of the biggest park I've been to. It has a huge gym pictured below.

It has a daycare center pictured below. I remember asking if I can take RC here but they said it is only for children with low-income parents and while I can be considered low income by myself at the time, combined income made us unqualified for any government help/subsidies.

It has picnic tables in various parts of the park.

It has a playground that is exactly the same as the park that we always go to by our apartment. It also has basketball and tennis courts.

It has two baseball fields and I saw kids playing soccer here too.

The mountain views are nice, this is just from one angle. Some views are just mountains with  no houses.

RC smelling her hibiscus.

That's my Wednesday post! I hope you stop by and link up yours too. I'll link this too to other Wordless Wednesays and please pardon if I don't comment. I appreciate all of you sharing your photos!

Rain Harvesting

Since I lived  here in the US, I haven’t really experienced the loss of supply of water. If the water will be shut down, there will always be a notice at our door saying the exact time that the water won’t run. I don’t even take note of it because it is just usually about two hours and in the middle of the afternoon.
I remember when I lived in the Philippines and my landlady would collect water from the rain because there was a water crisis going on in the city at that time. It would have been better is she used one of these rain barrels instead of just a regular pail.

I think rain barrels are a great idea for rain harvesting so we can save water for later use. This water can be used to water the plants, clean the driveway etc. I know water is cheaper compared to electricity but if there is loss of water, everyone if affected. I’ve been there many times before and it was hard. At this time, I don’t have an outdoor space to collect rain but this is something I would do in the future if I ever move out of a condominium unit and have some outdoor space.

Thank you simplyrainbarrels.com for letting me write about rain water barrel once gain. This post is brought to you by their website.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I want to wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day!

A day before Valentine's, I did the laundry, fold the clothes, vacuumed and shampooed(finally!) our carpet so there won't be much household chores on this special day. RC will probably be my date. I'm so behind my blogging duties though. I need to have more time and get more motivated.  I probably have at least five products to review so please stay tune.

The wreath pictured above is made from a craft cord. I'm not exactly sure what is the term used for it but it's very flexible so I can bend it in any shape. I think I'll get more of it.

I'm linking with Show and Tell Friday
