Celebrity Pink

I want to thank Lauren of Celebrity Pink Jeans for letting me try this jeans. I tried it just now but I was having a hard time taking a picture of myself  (my husband is not here). I was happy when I received it in the mail, it was delivered by UPS, packaged carefully and most of all, I got more free things I wasn't even expecting. Oh, and the card was really sweet. Thanks again Lauren, they are super comfy, chic and casual. I like the acid wash finish you chose for me.

This is my second piece of Celebrity Pink Jeans. Based on the first one that I have, it has great quality and wouldn't wear out even if I kept using it. I hope this one will have the same quality. You'll see me wear this jeans in my future blog entries.

Stainless

I've always lived in the tropics so for half of the year it's hot and humid and during the other six months it's raining. Lately, it has been rainy and cold here where we live now. Well, not as cold as maybe most of you. We never get snow or freezing rain or anything close to that. Speaking of getting cold, here are some gadgets that are suited for cold weather. I'm a fan of stainless. Who would want rusty stuff?

Here's a blomus stainless steel fireplace set and a blomus stainless steel firepit. I think they're both uniquely designed and would make a great centerpiece for your fireplace or your patio.
This blomus stainless steel teaset is a simple but elegant addition to anyone's modern kitchen.

Homes can be fashionable too. I see a lot of fashion bloggers who have fashionable homes.

Chocolate candies

Valentine's Day is coming. Time for chocolate candies, flowers and Valentine's cards. My favorite of these are the chocolates. I talked about how I love chocolate before. Even RC is a chocolate girl too. Now, I have to be careful with what I eat around her. She would like to have whatever I have. I do give her a taste and sometimes more than just a taste. I guess chocolates are not too bad but sodas are and I drink a lot of it. One of my New Year's resolutions is to drink less soda. But I think giving up chocolates will be pushing my limit so maybe next year.  I think we will have an early Valentine's Day since it is going to fall on a Monday and it's not a holiday. Do you celebrate Valentine's Day?

Parking is a luxury

I took these pictures myself one afternoon when we went out to dine at a restaurant downtown. Believe it or not, there are some buildings where parking is much more expensive than this. There was one time I had an appointment and the office I went to is not validating parking tickets. We ended up paying $12.50 for just one and a half hour. Well, it's not all bad here, just downtown and maybe certain other areas.

I don't drive a car, we have only one parking spot in our apartment and street parking will be very hard to find especially late in the afternoon. I used to take the bus going to work but thankfully, now my husband drives me to work and picks me up. But if I ever decide to buy one, I want an Acura. How about you? What is your dream car? Maybe Edward Cullen's Volvo C30 R-Design? I think a Honda Accord Coupe will be a good choice too.

Home Depot

These pictures were taken last September when we went to Home Depot. The first pictures are RC riding the grocery cart. The last picture is me trying to refinish our dining table. Somehow parts of the plastic cover I placed on top of our table caused some damage to the original finish. This is not a big task compared to what we see on HGTV and DIY network, but it wasn't easy. First, we had to use stain remover so we can scrape the table, and it stinks.  I was ready, I had gloves and mask on.

When I do things like this, I miss living in the Philippines. It is easy to find someone to repair things there and they don't cost a fortune. When I went there, I had custom made furniture covers (12 pieces) for only $60 including materials. I'm sure many Filipinos can relate to this.

Sesame Street

Contribution by Paula Gonzales

I grew up with the Sesame Street show when I was a child in the early nineties. Now, my first child is beginning to develop and enjoys watching the same show that I loved when I was his age! I love all the characters on the show and each teaches something important from colors to numbers to even ideas about sharing and friendship. Sesame Street is an important show that has helped enrich the lives of so many young kids, myself included. From time to time, celebrities make guest appearances on the show and not to long ago Michelle Obama included herself among them. I thought it was great to see the First Lady on a children's show. As a child it is hard to understand who the famous people are but, as an adult watching the show with my child, I appreciate the effort that celebrities put forth to interact with younger audiences. My son and I love to curl up and watch the latest shows on our DirectTV each afternoon. It is a great bonding experience and I get to reminisce about my childhood as well. I think Adam prefers the Cookie Monster because he always laughs whenever he comes on the screen. I am partial to Big Bird but, I am glad he likes the show and not some obnoxious cartoon!

Evolve

I've been updating my blog almost everyday now since the start of the year. I got invited to a 2011 blog everyday challenge. I wanted to join but I thought I would not be able to update everyday but I did. You may think that my blog is full of nonsense now. Some blogs evolve from a general blog to a great fashion or food blog and so on. Mine is evolving from mostly mom-daughter moments with pictures to a general blog (you know the writing about everything and anything kind). I think I like it this way. I'm  not able to have pictures all the time and recently, my "assistant husband" is taking some days off being my photographer. On some weekends, I just also want to live without having to bring the camera every time. I'll lose some followers but I'll  gain some (hopefully). They say when you are a mom, you can relate to a lot of things and stome stuff like boogies and potties  (sorry for the terms), they have more meaning to me now than before. I'm even thinking of making another blog to accomodate all of my nonsense. Well, RC started preschool so I'm thinking of having a journal about shopping for her, the toys and school supplies that are most helpful for her, also websites I love, household, food etc.

Anyway, here are some pictures from RC's birthday. No party, we just went to the zoo and ate at an Italian restaurant.

P.S.-I have a simple guest post from one mommy on my next entry
-I'll put some animal pictures next time.
