Koko Crater Botanical Garden

This is my second time at Koko Crater Botanical Garden. It has been so long since the last time I was here. There are many exotic plants and it looks untouched in some areas. I can tell not very many people come here. It even felt a little scary for me  because we were the only people there. There was a guard by the entrance but once we're inside, there was no other group that was there. I kept thinking that somewhere along the way, we'll see some other people that are walking or having a picnic but there are none.

I like this part with the cacti, small and huge ones.

RC can't leave this tiny blue bug after the picnic. We also saw one wild cat and we fed him some chips.

I think it's an interesting place especially to those who love nature.

Everytime RC sees plumeria, she runs and smells them. I think plumeria is becoming my favorite flower too, they smell so good and they're beautiful. I like how we saw about three or four colors of plumeria flowers here  instead of the usual yellow and white.

I guess there will always be bougainvillea, they're abundant here.
I'm so proud of RC for not complaining during the walk. We only stopped once to have a picnic. Going up and down walking on a rocky path must be hard for a three year old, and this walk is probably about 2 miles long. We were walking very slow though.

This is what we did for 4th of July. We did not come to see any fireworks this time, maybe next year.

I've been lazy to comment and link on blogs lately. I know I keep typing this all the time,  but thanks again to those who keep visiting.

Sunshine After The Rain

Thankfully, it did not rain today at least in our area. I'm getting a little tired of too much rain lately and we can't go outdoors much because of it. At the pictures above, I dressed up RC a few days ago in rain outfit and the sun decided to show up.

Belated Happy St Patrick's Day!

Yellow Birds

I took this picture during one of our trips to the park. I'm mostly the photographer nowadays so you'll see pictures like this from our activities but not the usual me and RC kind of pictures. Thanks for all the visits.

Shadow Shots

I was feeling tired today so I looked at this photos taken a few days ago and I wish we're by the ocean again, so peaceful, clean and beautiful.

I sort of, kind of starting to work again and some days are busy. I also revived my Ebay account that I haven't used in three years. Sometimes, I feel bad that I can't give a lot of time for RC (I'm still with her while "working" but I have to do other things as well). After all, I quit my 8 hour job because of her. She's doing good and she seems to be  a happy kid.  I still take  her to the park not everyday but about twice a week. It's been raining lately anyway in the afternoon so I feel excused on the days I don't take her. We also started going to storytime sessions so she can mingle more with other kids. I just have to think of this and then my guilt feeling starts to subside.

Thank you for all the comments and in as much as I would love to reply and comment back to everyone, I just don't have much time. I visit you back though.

Ho'omaluhia Botanical Garden

It's been two years since the last time that we were here at Ho'omaluhia Botanical Garden. It's our favorite botanical garden. I love the view from here and it's a big place so even if there are other visitors, there is a lot of space for everyone. This is RC's third time to go here.

RC adores this tree and she kept wanting to touch it. It's just her size.

We were here for a short time, mainly to eat our lunch and a little sight seeing. Obviously, we had KFC, also one of our favorite fast foods. There were a lot of other places to drive here that we did not go to.

It is raining on and off again lately almost everyday now.

I was caught eating RC's left over chicken.

RC was dancing here. She can dance without music!

I was taking a video of RC here.

I thought about wearing blue jeans for both of us since we had matching tops on  but decided that wearing plaid tops is enough for the "matchy-matchy" thing.

Aloha everyone!

(Wordless) Wordy Wednesday: Halawa District Park w/ Linky

Happy Valentine's! This is more like a wordy and "picturey" Wednesday than wordless.

I mentioned at this post that we went to another park because it was all wet and still drizzling at Moanalua Valley Park. This is the park where we went to, Halawa District Park. Going here brings back some memories. I used to go here almost everyday,  mostly all by myself. I ate here, read magazines here, I watched the kids playing. Sometimes, I walked through the neighborhood, which was a mile walk with a friend.

It's one of the biggest park I've been to. It has a huge gym pictured below.

It has a daycare center pictured below. I remember asking if I can take RC here but they said it is only for children with low-income parents and while I can be considered low income by myself at the time, combined income made us unqualified for any government help/subsidies.

It has picnic tables in various parts of the park.

It has a playground that is exactly the same as the park that we always go to by our apartment. It also has basketball and tennis courts.

It has two baseball fields and I saw kids playing soccer here too.

The mountain views are nice, this is just from one angle. Some views are just mountains with  no houses.

RC smelling her hibiscus.

That's my Wednesday post! I hope you stop by and link up yours too. I'll link this too to other Wordless Wednesays and please pardon if I don't comment. I appreciate all of you sharing your photos!

Moanalua Valley Park and Playground

It's been awhile since I made a post like this with a lot of pictures. Finally, our family went out on a weekend with a camera.

Before we left our apartment building:

This is our first time at Moanalua Valley Park, it is a small park with playground, small outdoor gym and two basketball courts. It has some huge trees and a picnic table. It was drizzling while we were there and there were no other kids at the park except RC.Still, we took a walk around and enjoyed the view.

RC is ready for Valentine's day. She was wearing a dress full of hearts. I was wearing my Bacon Element shirt in which I made a review HERE with a giveaway which is still ongoing. This is what I've been wearing a lot lately, just t-shirt and shorts.

This rock behind us was wet and so is all the grass.

These leaves are gigantic. I seem to always see this plant at various parks and botanical gardens here in Oahu.

My sweet big little girl

We went to another park after this because it was raining at this side, I'll share it in my next blog post.
