The Clorox Lounge (When Frugality Strikes)

I love being frugal and I have been frugal as far as I remember. I don’t mind wearing second hand clothes and I always buy things that are on sale. I shop at thrift stores and yard sales. I make do-it-yourself projects if I think that making them will save some money instead of buying.

However, I learned that there are things that you should consider when you buy cheap items like quality. There are times when I buy a cheap item and then I would only use it once or twice. Some of my DIY projects are still left to be done because they require time to make. If you consider all the materials you will need to finish a project plus the time, sometimes it makes more sense to buy an item that you want to DIY.

Do you have any stories where being frugal backfired? Another situation where being frugal backfired in my case was the time that I went to garage sales every Saturday and I accumulated a lot of cheap things mostly toys for RC. My place looked like a thrift store for toys. After awhile, I realized that we don’t have space for all the things I bought so I had to get rid of them. Some toys are worth buying but some are not. I live in an apartment unit so I'm unable to have a garage sale myself.

When moments like these happens, it is better to just laugh at myself and learn from the situations. The Clorox Lounge knows how hectic and crazy life can be. It was initially launched on January 26, 2012. They are turning bathroom time into a laugh time. The Clorox Lounge is a place for comedy hosted by Sherri Shepherd, a mom, actress and a comedian.

If you visit The Clorox Lounge website, you’ll notice that they have a funny unique contest going on. The Last Comic Sitting competition and sweepstakes features ten funny moms and dads. I was just at their website, there were only two moms and two dads left at the competition. I watched some of the videos and I admire their creativity. I’m sure a lot of moms and dads can relate to the hilarious videos and slideshows. The grand prize winner will receive a huge amount of $10,000. You can cast your vote! Golden Gate Bridge

We're back from San Francisco and I'm back to regular blogging. These are some of our first pictures that were taken during our trip. It was a great vacation meeting family again and we went to places we've never been before and more places than I actually anticipated on a budget. Most places we went to have no or cheap entrance fees. I also brought enough clothes this time so there was no need to do extra shopping although I did buy few clothes for RC while we were there. We were able to wear our coats and jackets again.

Now, it's time to gather all my energy so we can attend storytime and playdates again. We have to save so we can plan the next vacation. I think we're still in California time because we were waking up earlier and we've all been sleeping at around 8 pm.

Knowing that so many stay at home moms have a business online makes me want to have an online business myself. I’ve been thinking about it. I sold items before in Ebay and Craigslist but with Craigslist, you usually have to meet them in person and with Ebay, there are so many fees (just my opinion).

Aside from hard work, I think another reason why some online businesses are successful is because of their web hosting company.  Having your web page designed in a way that is easy to navigate can attract customers. Of course, advertising works too. More people who know about your business, the better the chance you will sell your items.

Yummy COOL WHIP Whipped Topping

COOL WHIP Whipped Topping is always in our refrigerator in the freezer section. I still remember the first time I tried it. It was introduced to me about six years ago and since then, it is always on my list when we go to the grocery store. It does not take very long before it is gone because I can use it for any dessert to make them even more special. If you are a regular reader of my blog, you probably have noticed that I eat a lot of sweets and chocolate. COOL WHIP is definitely a sweet treat. There are varieties of COOL WHIP now but I still prefer the original.

Everyday can be special with COOL WHIP. You can get a ready to make pie and put some COOL WHIP on top of the sliced pie and it makes the dessert tastier. I think desserts are an important part of the meal. I don't need to be a chef or a kitchen genius to make good desserts. Some other ways I use COOL WHIP Whipped Topping is with strawberries and grapes as you can see from the pictures. Sometimes, I just dip the strawberries in COOL WHIP but for this post, I want it to be a little more presentable. I removed the leaves, sliced them for a better presentation and added COOL WHIP.

A cup of coffee can also be more tasty and better with COOL WHIP. When I go to a coffee shop, I always request a whip on top but at home a scoop of COOL WHIP Whipped Topping does the trick. Just scoop the COOL WHIP with a spoon and it's done. For me, it personally makes our desserts better and my family loves it too.

This is an iced chocolate drink I made earlier and I put three dollops of COOL WHIP on top.

If you want to use COOL WHIP as an icing on a cake or pie, there are many recipes that you can find online. One idea that I found before is that you can mix it with a pudding to make it thicker. I usually use it just the way it is, it is a lot easier that way. How about ice cream with COOL WHIP? I tried this before and it is really good too!
