New Quaker Soft Baked Bars

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Quaker Oats for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
Did you try the new Quaker Soft Baked Bar? I did not yet but after reading much about it, I will probably purchase one when I go to the grocery store. It's a wholesome food that you can use as breakfast snack. You probably tried one of the Quaker food products before particularly their oatmeal. I have their oatmeal here at home and I love how you can be creative in serving it. You can basically add whatever you choose to match it to your taste preference. I like to add apples and raisins on my oatmeal.

The new Quaker Soft Baked Bar is nutritirous with only 140 calories. It has also 5 grams of fiber and 6 grams of protein. It is an great source of 5 B- Vitamins. Lately, I have been trying to buy healthier food and snack not just for RC  but myself. I still have to work on eating less food with sugar like chocolates and ice cream. I think this Quaker Soft Baked Bar is sweet enough but nutritious. I will see after I tried it. They come in Banana Nut Bread and Cinnamon Pecan Bread flavors. They look chewy and easy to eat. My daughter still have a hard time on chewing on some food so I still give her the softer kind of food. It can be a challenge sometimes because us adults can eat almost any food in our refrigerators and panty but our little kids can't yet.
If you have tried the Quaker Soft Baked Bar, let me know what your thoughts are. I think I would love the Cinnamon Pecan flavor. I love cinnamon and pecans and if they go together, that would be just heaven to my taste buds.

PROBAR Fruition Gluten Free Snack Bars Review & Giveaway (US & Canada) Ends 6/20

I was given a box of  Probar Fruition Bars. I tried one after I opened the box and I was eating my third fruition bar before I know it. They are soooo good! I was surprised of the texture and color after I opened it. It's not like any snack bar that you would purchase at the grocery store. It's very soft and chewy. You can taste the cashew, the fruit flavor and the other ingredients. It's very tasty.

Gluten Free Probar Fruition Bars is also extending a special one-time discount to my readers. You can go to http://theprobar.com/shop and enter the code "BLOGGER” at checkout and you'll get 40% off your first order. That's such a great deal.

What's not to love about these fruit bars? I know I focus so much on the taste but they are not just delicious, they're healthy too. It's gluten-free and every bar provides one full serving of fruit. It has only 150 calories. They're definitely superfood. I want to order more of this. The only bummer on my part is that they have additional shipping charges for Hawaii (as usual because I live in the middle of Pacific Ocean).

It comes in seven flavors-- blueberry, lemon, cran-raspberry, peach, strawberry, cherry and chocolate-orange.

Don't forget if you would like to order some of this, just enter the code "BLOGGER" at http://theprobar.com/shop when you check out to get 40% off.

For updates, you can like Probar in Facebook
One of my readers will also get a chance to win one box of the Gluten Free Probar Fruition Bars!

DIY Chalk Book

I got the chalk book idea here.  I started with a book with a large board book, chalkboard spray paint and white paint.  This  book is meant for  babies and we don't read this anymore so I thought of recycling it.

I painted the book with the white paint using a small roller.

I sprayed the book with the chalk spray (no picture)
It will take at least two coats of chalk spray paint to cover the book.

Tested to  be effective and fun for RC

Learning:
I always try to do the shortcut so I did not sand the book even if it is glossy. I should have!
This is a time consuming project, harder than what I thought. I waited page after page for the paint to dry and spray painting is messy.
Some projects like painting should be done outdoors  but since I don't have my own outdoor space, I still did it indoors anyway and it wasn't so pleasant.

Overall, it was worth trying to do a new project and my daughter likes the book.

It Pays to Vacation at Home Sweepstakes

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of The Clorox Company for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
Are you a fan of Dollar General? We don’t have them in Hawaii but whenever I we go on vacation to the Midwest, we go there multiple times. They should open one here so they can pass the great deals to the people here at the islands.
Clorox® and Dollar General are currently running a sweepstakes at It Pays to Vacation at Home (clickable). From May 20 to June 24, 2012, you can enter the “It Pays to Vacation at Home” for a chance to win the grand prize of $500 to vacation at home. They have 20 grand prizes ($500) and 100 first prizes ($25 gift card).

You can register at itpaystostaycation.com and once registered, contestants also have the chance to play the “Wipe to Win” game for a chance to win a $10 Dollar General gift card. The sweepstakes is being sponsored by The Clorox® Company. I tried to join these contests however, I can’t find Hawaii or Alaska at the drop down list of states. It is probably open to the first 48 states only.

We do like staycations, they are cheaper and convenient. You still have the vacation feel because you rent a place to stay, away from work (corporate and home) and relax. We are going to the Big Island of Hawaii in a few days so that’s a staycation for us. Our favorite Clorox® products can be found at Dollar General like Clorox® Liquid Bleach, Pine-Sol® Multi Surface cleaners and Clorox® Disinfecting Wipes. Please visit It Pays to Vacation at Home for a chance to win! There’s a good chance to win since there will be many winners.

Play Hard and Find Bugs

Water coloring on a foil. Other paint will probably be better.

Making egg sandwiches. RC loves helping me mix food.

How to do it? Mix mashed boiled eggs with  mayonaisse and salt and make a sandwich-- easy peasy!

Activity should have been folding magazine paper but she would rather wrinkle them and make them into balls and throw them in a basket, it was a hit.

Picture taken from about two months ago. I notice she likes playing doctor at her old preschool, at the free preschool that we were going and when we go to my friend's house for a playdate so I bought  doctor tools for her and since then everyday is a doctor dress up day.

Trying to find bugs can be fun although she only found ants, she was pretty excited!

I've been playing really hard with RC. I haven't had a picture of myself lately not even on Mother's day. Today, we already played with alphabet puzzles and play dough. We danced while listening to Youtube kid's videos, fun stuff.

Infiniti Pro by ConAir Review and Conair Impressions Cushion Brush Giveaway Ends 6/17

Last March, I had my hair straightened. It was kind of expensive but I did it anyway so I won’t need to always tie it at the back.  Because I have thick hair, it can take time to use the iron.
I got the chance to try the Infiniti Pro by ConAir. It has a 15-second heat up feature so it takes less time to do hair ironing when I use it so it can reach more hair. I like that it is narrow so it is easy to handle. It also has longer plates compared to most hair irons.  It’s auto-off so it automatically shuts off when you are not using it even if you left it on.  It came with Argan oil which provides maximum conditioning and anti-frizz protection. I was using an older model of ConAir hair iron before and this Infiniti Pro by ConAir is much better and easier to use.

Other features:

Tourmaline Ceramic technology for shiny, smooth results

Can be hot as 455°F

You can use it to straighten or flip your hair.
You can purchase the Infiniti Pro by Conair 1 inch Ceramic Flat Iron nationwide at mass market and drug store retailers, as well as at www.conair.com for an average price of $39.99.

I was also provided with a Conair Impressions Cushion Brush. I love how it looks with the floral detail at the back. I prefer ConAir brushes because they can remove the tangles away easily after taking a shower. One of my readers will also have the chance to win one ConAir hair brush. This is open to US residents only.

a Rafflecopter giveaway

The Rafflecopter is not showing the winner even though I pressed announced so I just "print screened" the winner. Congrats to Robyn, thanks for always joining my giveaways and this is the first time you win!
